Melbourne is set to be home to the new tallest skyscraper in Australia – and even the tallest building in the Southern Hemisphere.

The Green Spine – how it is going to be named, will debut an impressive height of 356.2 meters.

But for us, the most impressive aspect about Australia’s tallest building is the strong focus on the eco-friendly design and better construction practices.

The original plan shows that the building is going to be made of materials that are both natural and native to Australia and topped by a publicly accessible botanic garden.

The project also shows plenty of outdoors and balconies, where greenery will burst through the facing facades of both towers as they twist towards each other.

The project is by architects UNStudio and Cox Architecture, made to Beulah International.

We partnered up with Oi Australia to film a video about The Green Spine and other eco-friendly topics, as you can check it below.
